As part of the annual project on Environment for CE2(5th grade) at the Lycee Francais, I was invited to lead series of art classes in the month of March, 2010. The kids were adorable, and so eager to learn and participate, out mutual learning experience turned out to be a fruitful one! Together we built paper-mache Baobab and Ravenal trees to hang news on environment; painted a playwood board with Ravenal to display children's writings; 5 suspending cubes for poems; paper-mache balls to learn about how to make wire structures for animals, and so much more. With children, I learned to use homemade manoc-roots-glue, and to continue to search for local materials to make the project work. I thank the teachers, the school, and all the bright students who made the oppertunity an extra special one. The art works will be exhibited at the Alliance Francaise in May, 2010; then will be sent to the education center at the Zoo Ivoloina.
