The title of the exhibition is The Journey Through Centre of Colours.
In this series of colourful paintings and drawings, most frequently seen elements of this society, such as women, pous-pous (rickshaws,) roosters and zebus are juxtaposed with its own landscape. Dynamic colours are added to draw attention to constant movements of each story line, and each story draws spotlights on those social elements who are often forgotten like wall papers with a room full of people, but who are actually the backbones in creating and running this country.
To sparkle up the exhibition, art conferences on semiology will be led by a French art professor from Reunion, Valerie Beer Demander, on Ami Lee's works.
Part of the sales from this exciting event will be donated to sustain infants' nutrition program for newborns and children in desperate nutritional needs in Tamatave, Madagascar.
The opening gala takes place at the Alliance Francaise art gallery at 6:30 pm May 4, 2009. The show will be opened to public for 2 weeks Mon-Sat, at the art gallery.
Enjoy the show.
